J.P. Morgan Hires Geng Ngarmboonanant to Lead Multi-Asset Strategy

J.P. Morgan Asset Management has announced that Geng Ngarmboonanant will join its Multi-Asset Solutions business as managing director, focusing on global business and investment strategy. Based in New York, Geng reports to Zachary Page, Head of Multi-Asset Solutions for the Americas.

In his new role, Geng contributes to investment strategy through macroeconomic and policy research and works with clients to develop tailored solutions. He also joins the business leadership team, where he will help shape strategy and product development.

Geng served as Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen

Geng most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen. During his tenure, he advised on key economic policy issues, including responses to the pandemic, market volatility, U.S.-China economic relations, and the implications of artificial intelligence for financial markets. He was part of the Covid-19 crisis response team and received the Treasury Medal.

“From large pension plans to individual retail investors”

Multi-Asset Solutions oversees $440 billion in client assets as of March 31, 2025. The group combines asset allocation capabilities with access to J.P. Morgan’s global platform, which includes more than 500 investment strategies across all major asset classes. Its offerings range from customized solutions to established products such as J.P. Morgan Income Builder, J.P. Morgan Global Allocation, and the SmartRetirement target date fund series.

Prior to his government service, Geng worked at Bain & Company and an investment management startup that was later acquired by Capital One. He served on President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team and held policy roles in two presidential campaigns. He holds a B.A. in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale College and a J.D. from Yale Law School.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management manages $3.6 trillion in assets as of March 31, 2025, offering investment services across equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds, private equity, and liquidity to clients globally. It is part of JPMorgan Chase & Co., which had $4.4 trillion in assets and $351 billion in stockholders’ equity at the end of Q1 2025.
